Houston Healthcare is seeking a Surgical Scrub Tech to support operative services in Perry, GA. Work under the supervision of a registered nurse and contribute to the patient care plan within the operating room. Role includes on-call duties and adherence to established standards of care.

Requirements include a HS diploma or GED, completion of a surgical technology program, and a current BLS certification. A minimum of one year scrub tech experience is preferred; ortho training may be required.

Work Shift:

Under the general supervision of a registered nurse, provides nursing care and completes tasks delegated for all categories of patients served. Utilizes patient’s individualized plan of care in providing care and collecting data relating to patients needs and response. Provides care in accordance with Houston Healthcare’s Plan for the Provision of Nursing Care, standards of care and standards of performance. Required to take call.

Qualifications:

Education & Training: High School diploma or GED equivalent. Completion of an accredited surgical technology program or is currently enrolled and in good standing in their last quarter of scrub tech program.

Experience:

One (1) year scrub tech experience. Education may substitute for Experience.

Required Certification/Registration/Licensure:

Current AHA/ARC BLS certification. Must obtain and maintain required ortho education/training as mandated in the Houston Healthcare Joint Destination Center of Excellence Policy.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Must be able to utilize surgical instruments, supplies and necessary equipment during surgical procedures. Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon and has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure safe, quality patient care during the operative procedure. Must be able to utilize personal protective equipment, such as gloves, gown and mask, etc.
