Job summary

Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Script Clearance Department supports SPE’s film, television, and VR productions by resolving legal script clearance issues in line with E&O insurance requirements. The Coordinator liaises with Analysts, production personnel, and the Research Department to keep clearance moving from pre-production to completion.

Responsibilities include memos, clearance letters, SCOUT reporting, and payment processing for licenses and materials.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of prior experience supporting motion picture/television production, legal, or business affairs teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with high discretion in handling confidential information.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; fast, accurate typing and strong proofreading skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing initial script clearance report memos and clearance spreadsheets using SCOUT.
• Track clearance requests, releases, and issues in SCOUT; upload reference images and update statuses.
• Draft permission request letters and legal Release forms for Analyst review.
• Coordinate with Analysts to prioritize requests and follow up on urgent items.
• Fill in on routine communications: calls, mail routing, and update of project records.
• Process billing and license payments; liaise with Accounting and other studios.
