Job summary

OrthoVirginia in Virginia is seeking a Medical Scribe to accurately document patient encounters in the electronic medical record while supporting orthopedics clinicians. This role offers meaningful hands‑on exposure and is ideal for students planning advanced healthcare education.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or be enrolled in a healthcare‑related major, prior clinical exposure, knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, and strong typing skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in healthcare‑related major.
• Prior healthcare exposure (scribe, CNA, EMT, MA, athletic training, etc.).
• Interest in pursuing advanced clinical education (MD/DO, PA, PT, NP, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Accurately document patient encounters in the EMR, including chief complaint, HPI, ROS, PMH, meds, and allergies.
• Record musculoskeletal exam findings with pertinent positives/negatives and abnormalities.
• Document clinician assessments and treatment plans with appropriate detail for case complexity.
• Maintain professionalism and patient confidentiality in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
