Job summary

Quotient Sciences is hiring a Temporary Technician to support day shift in Miami. The role involves following protocol guidelines for handling screening specimens, collecting biological samples, phlebotomy, vital signs, ECGs, and ensuring data quality in accordance with GCP standards.

The candidate should possess phlebotomy and/or medical assistant certification, with at least two years of active phlebotomy experience and familiarity with Florida OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of active phlebotomy and laboratory procedures experience.
  • Current IATA certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of State of Florida OSHA guidelines.
  • High attention to details.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; interact with staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Follow protocol guidelines for prep, collection, transfer, storage and shipping of screening specimens as per protocol and OSHA/Florida biohazard rules.
  • Collect biological samples, perform phlebotomy, vital signs and ECGs as scheduled.
  • Ensure study data is collected to a high quality in line with GCP standards.
  • Ensure subject safety at all times.
  • Attend protocol training meetings and coordinate with central lab services.
  • Perform procedures including vital signs, ECGs and sample collection per SOPs.

The Role


  • Currently hiring for a Temporary Technician to support Day shift

  • To follow protocol guidelines for the preparation, collection, transfer, storage and shipping of all screening specimens according to protocol requirements and OSHA/State of Florida biohazardous regulations.

  • To collect biological samples, performs phlebotomy, vital signs and ECG’s in accordance with the specific activity schedule.

  • To ensure study data is collected to a high quality in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.

  • To ensure subject safety at all times.


Main Tasks and Responsibilities


  • Attendsprotocol training meetings to review specimen processing requirementsandensuresavailabilityofsuppliesneeded.Coordinatesserviceswithany central lab involved in thestudy.

  • Performs study procedures including vital signs, ECGs, and sample collection in compliance with study protocols and SOPs.

  • Notifies Screening Nurse of any vital sign, ECG or laboratory parameters that may exclude volunteer from study.

  • Completes source documents following GCP and GDP standards. Must comply withall relevantSOPs.

  • Performsqualitycontrolchecksforlabrequisitions.

  • Reportseventsregardingthedamageorlossofasampleorincidences involving spillage or employeeinjury.

  • Recordsthetemperatureofallfreezersandrefrigeratorsontheappropriate temperature logs on a dailybasis.

  • Verifiesthatallbiohazardousmaterialsaredisposedofappropriately.Ensuresproper labeling and preparation of biohazardous waste fortransport.

  • Preparesspecimens for shipping and adheresto regulations for biological sample shipping.

  • Arrangesovernight/express shipping of specimens and maintainsrelated shipping documents.

  • ReceivesandsortsalllaboratorytestresultsforreviewbytheInvestigatorsandclinical staff.

  • Ensures all lab results have been received for potential volunteersprior to utilization in astudy.

  • Perform vital sign and ECG measurements.

  • Assist the recruitment team when required.

  • Assists with any other duties as assigned.

  • Performs blood collection, vital signs, ECGs and other study procedures as required at the overnight facility based on Screening and Clinic scheduling needs.

The Candidate


  • Phlebotomy certificate and/or Medical Assistant certificate.

  • Minimum two years of active phlebotomy and laboratoryprocedures experience.
