Job summary

Slingshot Inkhouse is seeking a Screen Printing Production Assistant to support daily apparel decorating operations in Gas City, Indiana. This full-time, on-site role focuses on assisting with press setup, operation, and post-production cleanup to ensure timely, high-quality results.

You will work closely with the Inkhouse team to mix inks, prepare garments, and troubleshoot production issues while maintaining a safe, organized workspace.

Qualifications

• Experience in screen printing or a related print production role (preferred).
• Technical knowledge of screen printing processes, including registration, mesh counts, and ink application.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Reliable, punctual, flexible, and capable of working collaboratively with a production team.

Responsibilities

• Mix custom Pantone inks as needed.
• Pull, count, and organize blanks for printing.
• Set up and tear down screen printing presses; load/unload garments; clean screens.
• Follow production schedules to meet customer deadlines; report progress to Shift Lead.
• Inspect garments exiting the dryer for print quality and defects.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production workspace; handle inks and chemicals safely.

Position Overview

The Screen Printing Production Assistant supports daily production operations within our apparel decorating division. This role focuses on assisting the Screen Printer with equipment setup, press operation, and post-production cleanup to ensure all jobs are produced efficiently and to high quality standards.

The Production Assistant works collaboratively with the team to facilitate a smooth workflow, contributing to the craftsmanship and timely delivery of products for our campus stores.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting Production Operations

• Mix custom Pantone inks as needed.


• Pull, count, and organize blanks for printing.


• Assist with the setup and teardown of automatic and manual screen printing presses, including loading/unloading garments and cleaning screens.


• Follow daily production schedules to meet customer deadlines, reporting progress to the Shift Lead.


• Perform routine cleaning of equipment and production areas to ensure the shop remains in good working order.

Quality Control

• Support quality control efforts by catching and inspecting garments as they exit the dryer for print consistency and defects.


• Troubleshoot and correct print issues during production runs to minimize waste and downtime.

Shop Safety & Organization

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production workspace.


• Handle inks, chemicals, and solvents safely and responsibly, adhering to all shop safety protocols.


• Support the team by maintaining an efficient workflow and assisting with other production tasks as needed.
