C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR) is seeking a skilled Screed Operator for its local Florida road construction operations.

The ideal candidate will manage screed distribution, set up screed electronics with the paver operator, and ensure proper depth, grade, and cross section of asphalt. • Minimum 2 years’ working knowledge of screed operation on asphalt pavers.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and complete paperwork efficiently.
• Willingness to work days, nights, or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Observe distribution of paving material and control screed to eliminate voids.
• Set up screed electronics with the paver operator.
• Adjust depth, grade, and finished cross section via screed control.
• Estimate material quantities and grade requirements for finished surface.
• Understand prep work, drainage, paving patterns, specs, compaction and related duties.
• Perform light mechanical adjustments and assist with equipment repairs.
• Follow safe practices and procedures; perform other duties as assigned.
