Job summary

C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR) is seeking a Screed Operator for our local Florida operations. The role focuses on monitoring asphalt distribution, setting up screed electronics, and ensuring proper depth and grade across projects.

Ideal candidates have a minimum of two years' screed experience, a high school diploma (preferred), and the ability to work days, nights, or weekends. Drug screening and background checks are conducted.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' working knowledge of screed operation on the asphalt paver.
• Experience in construction, maintenance, and repair of roads and highways.
• Ability to complete required paperwork efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Observe distribution of paving material and control screed to avoid voids.
• Set up screed electronics with the paver operator.
• Adjust for proper depth, grade, and cross section of asphalt.
• Estimate materials needed for the project and grade.
• Understand prep work, grades, drainage, patterns, specs, and compaction.
• Perform light mechanical adjustments and assist with repairs.
• Follow safety practices and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
