Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking a hard-working Laborer/Weighmaster to join our yard operations in California. The role involves sorting scrap, ensuring safety, operating forklifts and scale equipment, and weighing inbound/outbound trucks.

You will prepare vehicles for processing and maintain clean, compliant yard conditions. The ideal candidate has basic labor experience, good communication skills, and the ability to follow written instructions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 1-year general labor in scrap metal or construction preferred.
• Willingness to learn and build cooperative relationships.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Sort scrap and prepare metals for processing.
• Maintain a safe environment for staff and customers.
• Operate forklift and skid steer.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report defects.
• Prepare autos for processing and remove designated parts.
• Weigh inbound/outbound trucks and document loads.
• Complete all required yard and vehicle paperwork.
• Process payments and keep accurate records.
