Job summary

SA Recycling in Macon, GA is hiring an Operations Labor to unload, process, and disassemble scrap metal, perform yard cleanup, and handle general, physical labor outdoors. The role requires hard work, reliability, and compliance with safety standards.

Training will enable progression to more technical tasks while supporting a safe and efficient workplace. Applicants must pass a medical physical and drug test, and a background check, with preferred HS diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Must pass a medical physical and drug test.
• Must pass a background check.
• Preferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable.
• Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) a plus.
• Ability to communicate with others effectively; understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demands.
• Willingness to learn how to sort metal, identify colors, shapes, and weights; properly maintain equipment; properly utilize PPE.

Responsibilities

• Unloading pallets, boxes, and bundles.
• Material handling/sorting – pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and filling hoppers, boxes, and conveyors.
• Unpacking boxes and separating plastics and packaging materials.
• Disassembling small equipment and removing bolts and parts for machinery.
• Operate/reason with recycling equipment such as metal shears, band saws, and wire strippers.
