Job summary

Materion Corporation in Buffalo, NY seeks a Scrap Refining Operator to process and document internal and customer scrap, ensuring accuracy in weights and descriptions. You will melt scrap for sampling and operate all sweep-prep equipment, while preparing samples for assay testing.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Receipt of customer and internal scrap, comparing contents with advised weights and descriptions.
• Electric induction and gas melting of scrap for sampling and/or granulation for refining.
• Operates equipment in sweeps preparation area (incinerator, ball mills, hammer mills, screen, blenders).
• Preparation and documentation (computer entry) of samples for the assay lab.
• Organization and documentation for accumulated scrap material in storage for further disposition and inventory control.
