Job summary

Mid-City Scrap LLC in Massachusetts is seeking a Laborer to handle, sort, and process ferrous and non-ferrous metals, ensuring materials are properly categorized for resale or further processing.

You will operate balers, shears, and other machinery, dismantle end-of-life vehicles, identify non-recyclable or hazardous material, and maintain safety and cleanliness in a busy industrial environment. Strong attention to detail and reliable teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and parts.
• Basic knowledge of metal types and characteristics.
• High attention to detail.
• Good hand-eye coordination and stamina for repetitive tasks.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
• Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and sort non-ferrous metals using visual inspection and handheld tools.
• Operate balers, shears, and other machinery to process materials.
• Processing and dismantling end-of-life vehicles including draining and removal of parts.
• Identify and remove any non-recyclable or hazardous material.
• Maintain consistent pace and accuracy.
• Assist with general labor tasks as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area.
