Qualifications

• Experience in sales, business development, account management, purchasing, scrapyards, or recycling.

• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and travel locally.
• Buyer I: Sales, business development, or scrapyard experience preferred.
• Buyer II: Direct scrap buying experience or substantial knowledge of the scrap and recycling industry.

Position Overview

We are seeking a sales-driven Scrap Buyer to develop new supplier relationships, source recyclable materials, and grow business throughout the region. This role combines business development, cold calling, account management, purchasing, and negotiation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prospect and develop new supplier accounts through cold calling and territory development.
• Source scrap metal, cardboard, plastics, and other recyclable materials.
• Build, maintain, and expand supplier relationships.
• Negotiate material purchases and coordinate with yard operations.
• Manage a regional territory, spending approximately three days per week visiting accounts and two days working from the yard.

Experience Levels

• Ability to leverage industry knowledge and supplier relationships to drive purchasing opportunities
