Job summary

HealthFitness is seeking a part-time Scorekeeper to join the recreation team at our Racine client site. You will officiate and score seasonal games, ensuring fair play and a professional atmosphere during fall and winter.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Officiate the games and instruct players on the rules of the game as necessary.

• Report any problems with games and/or players to site management.
• Officiate recreational games while keeping a professional playing atmosphere.
• Be punctual and professional in fulfilling responsibilities.
• Exercise authority in an impartial, firm, and controlled manner.
• Dress neatly and appropriately for each shift.
• Discipline participants utilizing facility standards to address disruption or safety issues.
• Other duties as needed/assigned.

About the role

HealthFitness is looking for a Scorekeeper to join the recreation team at our corporate client site in Racine, Wisconsin . In this position, you will keep score during seasonal sporting events.

This is a part-time role working on Wednesdays from 5:30pm to 7:30pm during Fall and winter.

Responsible for officiating recreational leagues on a seasonal basis.

Key Accountabilities

• Officiate the games and instruct players on the rules of the game as necessary.
• Referee two consecutive one hour games up to 3 nights per week.
• Reports any problems with games and/or players to the site Management.
• Officiate the recreational games while keeping a professional playing atmosphere.
• Be punctual and professional in the fulfillment of the responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• CPR/AED/first aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety & Health Institute required within 30 days of hire.
• Strong verbal communication skills with both children and adults.
• Knowledge of standard rules of play of the game being played.
• Active listening skills and ability to relate to and provide excellent customer service to participants and spectators.
• Ability to work independently, problem solve, and make decisions with limited supervision.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability make quick decisions, possess mature judgment, and sound decision-making.

Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test. The compensation for this role is $17.00 per hour. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
