Job summary

Mount Pleasant Recreation Department is seeking a part-time scorekeeper to support the Athletics Division Chief, Recreation Coordinators, and Recreation Specialists and Athletic Monitors during department activities. The position is part-time and on-site.

The role involves arriving 30 minutes before activities, helping report maintenance or equipment issues, maintaining score sheets, and assisting with injuries and weather-related procedures.

Qualifications

• Age 15 and up.
• Preferred sports-related background.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED desirable; training offered. Must be trained and certified prior to assigned work.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the assigned facility 30 minutes prior to scheduled start of activity.
• Aids Facility/Field Supervisor in reporting general maintenance, damage, or dangerous equipment.
• Maintains score sheets and turns sheets at the end of games.
• Aids during weigh-ins of football players prior to participation.
• Interacts with the public in a positive manner.
• Aids in completing and reporting injuries and ejections as necessary.
• Enrolls with Rainedout.com for inclement weather field cancellations.
• Provides awareness of inclement weather and field regulations and safety procedures.
• Wears proper attire for the job requirement.
• Performs other related assigned duties.

Scorekeepers support and assist the Athletics Division Chief, Recreation Coordinators, and Recreation Specialists and Athletic Monitors (a.k.a., Facility/Field Supervisor) by serving as on-site personnel during Recreation Department activities. This is a part-time position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Reports to the assigned facility 30 minutes prior to scheduled start of a specified activity or as assigned.
• Aids Facility/Field Supervisor in reporting general maintenance, damage, broken, or dangerous equipment.
• Maintains score sheets and turns sheets in to Facility/Field Supervisor at the end of games.
• Aids Facility/Field Supervisor during weigh in of football players prior to participation in games.
• Interacts with public in a positive manner.
• Aids the Facility/Field Supervisor in completing and reporting injuries and ejections as necessary.
• Enrolls with Rainedout.com, the electronic program for all inclement weather field cancellations.
• Provides awareness of inclement weather and field regulations during lightning, rain, and other conditions and designated MPRD safety procedures.
• Wears proper attire necessary for job requirement.
• Performs other related assigned duties.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

• Age 15 and up;
• Preferred sports related background;
• First Aid, CPR, and AED desirable, Mount Pleasant Recreation does offer training. Must be trained and certified prior to assigned work.
