Job summary

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream in Darien, CT is hiring part-time Scoopers to be ambassadors of the brand. You will greet guests warmly, scoop all menu items, educate guests on flavors, and prepare fresh house-made items daily in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and availability three shifts weekly including late nights. Food handlers certificate is required and tips supplement hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for ice cream and desserts.
• Able to push/pull/lift 50 lbs of weight regularly.
• Stand for extended periods and walk up/down stairs.
• Available to work 3 days a week including nights and weekends past 12 am.
• Food handlers certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Greet every guest warmly, with enthusiasm and genuine hospitality.
• Scoop and serve guests all menu items while maintaining quality and presentation standards.
• Educate guests on flavors, ingredients and special offerings.
• Prepare all fresh, house made menu items daily.
• Operate Square POS system for a seamless guest checkout process.
• Follow food safety procedures and maintain sanitation guidelines.
• Maintain store cleanliness and complete daily tasks including stocking, inventory and cleaning.
• Follow Van Leeuwen's standards for safety, grooming, uniform and conduct.
