Morton Buildings Scissor Operator Position

Morton Buildings is seeking to expand our team of employee owners! We are a leader in post-frame construction with over 120 years of experience, operating more than 10 manufacturing, fabrication, and shipping plants nationwide, supporting over 100 construction centers across the U.S.

The Scissor Operator will support construction crews by operating the MBI scissor lift, ensuring safety and quality in building and roofing projects. The role involves following safety policies, adhering to construction standards, and assisting in various construction tasks.

This position offers a pay range of $26.00 to $31.50 per hour, depending on experience and location.

Responsibilities

1. Schedule trucks for projects, primarily roofs and ceilings, based on crew needs.
2. Work safely and efficiently with crew members, promoting a respectful work environment.
3. Travel as required, including scheduling and coordinating transportation.
4. Obtain additional training and certifications for equipment operation as needed.
5. Maintain the vehicle according to GE guidelines.
6. Follow all Morton Buildings' procedures and safety protocols.
7. Submit vehicle reports and receipts monthly.
8. Adhere to safety procedures, including overhead power line restrictions and fall protection.

Qualifications

1. Active Class B CDL license with airbrake endorsements and appropriate licensing.
2. Ability to pass D.O.T. Physical and Drug Screening.
3. Compliance with safety equipment weight limits.
4. Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
5. Comfort working at heights up to 40 feet in physically demanding environments.
6. Experience or interest in carpentry and roofing.
7. Skills in operating heavy equipment.
8. Ability to work independently.
9. This role requires 90% travel, including overnight stays up to two weeks.
