Synoligo Biotechnologies Inc. in Morrisville, NC, is seeking a Bioanalytical Scientist to contribute to oligonucleotide assay development and client projects. You will work within a small team focused on PK/PD, biomarker, and immunogenicity studies for siRNA/ASO therapeutics.

The role requires a PhD in a related field and hands-on expertise with qPCR, ddPCR, immunoassays, and tissue processing. Collaboration with clients, data reporting, and SOP support are key elements of the position.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• 0–3 years (Scientist), 3–5 years (Sr. Scientist) industry CRO/biotech/pharma experience with achievements.
• Hands-on experience with qPCR, ddPCR, JESS, ELISA, MSD and other immunoassays.
• Experience with animal tissue processing, nucleic acid/protein extraction, and immunoprecipitation.
• Experience with cell-based assays is desirable.
• Knowledge of primer–probe design, oligo thermodynamics, and chemical modifications.
• Experience with LC-MS for oligo quantification is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilités

• Design and execute oligo bioanalytical assays (SL-qPCR/ddPCR, hybridization ELISA, RISC, protein assays).
• Establish in-house workflow to process animal tissues and extract DNA, RNA, and protein.
• Analyze and interpret assay data; prepare reports and communicate results to clients.
• Support instrument validation, assay optimization, and SOP development.
• Participate in client meetings as SME and assist project onboarding and progress.

As a Bioanalytical Scientist, you will be working alongside a small team of highly motivated scientists. Responsible for oligonucleotide bioanalytical assay development, you will help influence the advancements of science, your career, and a growing biotechnology start-up.

What you'll do in this role:

• Build internal oligo bioanalytical capabilities and lead external client projects focused on PK, PD, biomarker or immunogenicity of siRNA/ASO therapeutics.
• Design and execute oligo bioanalytical assays, including SL-qPCR/ddPCR, hybridization ELISA, RISC loading assay and protein-based assays (ELISA, JESS, MSD, IHC).
• Establish in-house workflow to process animal tissues and extract DNA, RNA, and protein for downstream assays.
• Leverage depth of knowledge to analyze and interpret assay data; prepare reports and communicate results to clients on a regular basis.
• Support internal instrument validation, assay optimization, and SOP development.
• Participate in client-based project meetings as subject matter expert and support new project onboarding, planning and progress discussions

What you bring to the table:

• Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• 0–3 years (Scientist), 3-5 years (Sr. Scientist), of relevant industry experience in a CRO, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical setting, with demonstrated achievements.
• Hands-on experience with qPCR, ddPCR, JESS, ELISA, MSD and other immunoassays.
• Proven experience with animal tissues processing and homogenization, nucleic acid/protein extraction and immunoprecipitation.
• Experience with cell-based assay is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of primer-probe design, oligo thermodynamic properties and chemical modifications is preferred.
• Experience with LC-MS for oligo quantification (e.g., siRNA, ASO) is a plus.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
