Within our Analytical Services team, we have a unique partnership that allows our customers to demonstrate our staff's experience while you, the employee, gain direct onsite experience at a pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical company, with full benefits.

Our client seeks a highly motivated process engineer to support the Drug Substance Development (DSD) team. You will use your engineering, chemistry, and analytical knowledge to scale up drug substance processes for primary manufacture and contribute to developing innovative processes and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate safely and effectively on multi-disciplinary teams to deliver work packages for API unit operation understanding and scale-up.
  • Implement laboratory protocols and experiments, monitor process parameters, and provide high-quality engineering insights for R&D decision-making.
  • Characterize chemical processing equipment across scales to support API process scale-up.
  • Develop predictive process models and understandings for unit operations.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain PAT equipment to collect process data and develop PAT methods.
  • Interpret experimental data to generate process knowledge, identify issues, and facilitate optimization.
  • Manage data, record results, and communicate findings effectively.
  • Present findings at meetings and participate in technical reviews.
  • Adhere to regulatory and data integrity requirements, including cGMP and policies.
Education and Experience:

BS in Chemical Engineering or related field (e.g., mechanical, bioengineering, biomedical) with at least 2 years of related experience. Equivalent education, training, or experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience in reaction engineering, separation technologies, fluid dynamics, pharmaceutical scale-up, or systems modeling.
  • Experience collaborating in pharmaceutical product development teams.
  • Knowledge of process development supporting manufacturing.
  • Understanding of QbD principles and risk-based development approaches.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Solid understanding of organic chemistry.
