Job summary

Stealth BioTech Startup is seeking a scientist with deep expertise in molecular biology, cell engineering and imaging to join our small but growing R&D team in the Bay Area. You will design and optimize assays, develop live-cell imaging workflows, and analyze data to support product improvements addressing reproductive health challenges.

Job description

We’re a venture-backed biotech firm based in the Bay Area, developing breakthrough technology at the intersection of genetics and reproductive health. We’re funded by world-class investors and are now expanding the scope of our R&D program. We're currently operating in stealth and will share more about the company and technology during the interview process.

About the Role

We’re seeking a scientist with deep expertise in molecular biology, cell engineering and imaging to join our growing R&D team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in mammalian cell and molecular biology, assay development, FACS and high-content imaging. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with our founding team to develop and optimize assays for improving our products designed to address reproductive challenges current and prospective parents face today.

This is a hands-on, high impact role at the earliest stage of the company; perfect for someone excited to shape the future of fertility and reproductive health.

Responsibilities
  • Design, optimize, and execute experiments that test product performance and reveal innovations for future product development cycles
  • Develop and validate live-cell staining and imaging workflows
  • Analyze, interpret, and clearly communicate experimental data
  • Contribute to protocol development, documentation, and future IP filings
  • Help shape the scientific direction and culture of the company as an early team member
Qualifications
  • PhD (or equivalent experience) in molecular biology, bioengineering, cell biology, or related field
Required Skills
  • Extensive, hands-on experience with mammalian cell lines is required, including independent experimental design, optimization, and analysis of cell-based assays
  • Proficiency in high-content microscopy, cell staining and flow cytometry techniques
  • Strong track record of designing and troubleshooting live-cell experiments
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excited to work in a dynamic, early-stage startup atmosphere
  • Motivated, independent, and excited to help build new technology
Preferred Skills
  • Hands-on experience with embryos, ICSI, or IVF workflows
  • Proficient with NGS workflows and data analysis
  • Prior startup or technology development experience
Pay Range and Compensation Package

This is a full-time, on‑site role based in the San Francisco Peninsula, CA.

  • Salary Range: $100,000–$140,000, depending on experience
  • Equity: Meaningful early‑stage equity as part of the founding team
  • Benefits: 401(k) with company matching, healthcare, vision and dental coverage
