Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a Scientist II, Assay Operations, to optimize and scale cellular screening for oncology drug discovery in Redwood City, CA. You will lead high‑throughput and high‑content assays, coordinating automation‑driven screening campaigns and technology transfers to CROs.

Qualifications

Role

Scientist II, Assay Operations, Screening Platform Technologies (SPT), supporting and scaling cellular screening for oncology drug discovery.

Responsibilities

optimize, validate, and execute high-throughput and high-content assays (e.g., CellTiter-Glo, NanoBRET), lead screening campaigns with automation platforms, coordinate assay transfer and standardization, develop workflows for quantitative profiling, analyze complex data using tools like Genedata Screener and programming languages, support tech transfer to CROs, collaborate across Discovery Sciences, Cancer Biology, Automation, Data Science, and mentor junior team members.

Requirements

PhD in biological sciences, chemical biology, pharmacology, or bioengineering with 2-4 years (PhD) or MS with 5-8 years industry experience; hands-on experience in cellular assay development, optimization, high-throughput screening, and automation (Hamilton, Dragonfly, Echo, Mosquito); proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools; strong organizational skills.

Preferred

familiarity with AI/ML, troubleshooting instrumentation, and experience with phenotypic oncology assays.
