Job summary

Specialist Staffing Group is seeking a Scientist II for Oncology Drug Discovery in Alameda, CA. This six-month contract role focuses on developing cell-based assays and evaluating small-molecule inhibitors for oncology programs, with potential for extension or permanent hire.

The position requires strong mammalian cell culture experience, assay development expertise, and data analysis skills to interpret dose–response data and communicate findings to project teams.

Qualifications

• BS with 4+ years or MS with 2+ years of relevant industry experience in Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture in a biotech/pharma setting.
• Experience with cell viability assays, ELISA, AlphaLISA, compound screening, and small-molecule drug discovery.
• Proficient in data analysis, including dose-response curve generation and interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyze experiments supporting oncology research programs.
