Job summary

Solventum in Eagan, MN is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Product Informatics & Modeling group. You will develop ML models on chemical, materials, and experimental data to accelerate formulation design and product performance.

Hybrid work with travel up to 10%. Requires advanced degree or equivalent experience, and strong Python skills with collaboration across R&D and business teams.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Computational Chemistry, Data Science, or STEM with quantitative modeling/ML focus.
• MS in Data Science with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or STEM and 1 year of data science experience.
• Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or STEM with 5 years of data science experience.
• High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of data science experience (as alternative).
• Strong foundation in organic/polymer chemistry or materials science is a plus.
• Experience building ML/predictive models using Python and scientific computing libraries.

Responsibilities

• Develop ML and statistical models from chemical/material datasets for accelerated formulation design and product performance prediction.
• Integrate experimental and simulation data to improve scientific understanding and decision making.
• Design and maintain data pipelines, workflows, and analytic tools for reproducible analyses.
• Collaborate with R&D and business teams to translate research questions into data-driven solutions.
