Job summary

Arylessence is seeking a Scientist, Applied Technology to prepare fragranced samples for customer bases and perform related testing and experiments in the Applications Lab.

Candidates will incorporate fragrance oils into diverse bases (candles, air care, home care, personal care) and support fragrance experiments, data recording, and reports with a strong emphasis on accuracy and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field is required.
• 5-7 years of laboratory experience.
• Proficiency in data analysis, reporting and interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Incorporate fragrance oils into various customer applications (candle & wax bases, air care spray and diffuser bases, home care & fabric bases, personal care bases, and fine fragrance carriers).
• Help develop and conduct fragrance experiments.
• Maintain a laboratory notebook and document all experiments and results; organize data and prepare summaries for reports.
• Perform efficacy validation testing on customer projects related to EPA registered bases.
• Evaluate raw materials used in product bases (new or replacement materials).
• Facilitate and run stability testing for customer projects (UV, HOF, Oven, FT, etc.).
• Prioritize completion of application requests.
• Interpret analytical test methods provided by customers.
• Operate and calibrate laboratory equipment as needed.
• Maintain an organized, clean work area and comply with GLPs.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field required.
• 5-7 years of laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer programs.
• Proficient in quantitative analysis, data interpretation, and applying analytical principles to drive reporting and decision-making.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results – orientation
• Ability to communicate efficiently and work well with others in a team environment.
• Ability to write correspondence and technical reports.
