Job summary

MillenniumSoft Inc. in Sparks, MD seeks an entry‑level Scientist 1 Analytical Chemistry to provide analytical support on a 12‑month contract (W2). The role emphasizes GLP-compliant testing across multiple instruments, with a 40‑hour week and 1st shift.

You will develop protocols and generate reliable data for client projects in the medical device sector. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s in Chemistry/Biochemistry/related field and has hands‑on exposure to chromatography techniques,

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or related discipline.
  • Prefer a minimum of 1 year of industrial or academic experience in Analytical Chemistry testing.
  • Basic understanding in the use of liquid chromatography systems.
  • Comfortable working in a GLP environment with proper documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, follow protocols and perform analytical testing using wet chemistry analysis, UV/VIS Spectroscopy, UPLC/MS, FTIR, ICP-MS and other techniques as required.
  • Use office and instrumentation specific computer software.
  • Perform tasks according to existing protocols, applying basic scientific principles to assigned tasks, developing experiments and documenting the performed work as required.
  • Identify and troubleshoot problems, collect and record data, report data.
  • Participate in technical meetings and data reviews.
  • Make sure Lab supplies are properly ordered, labeled, and stored.
  • Make sure required safety and other training is completed and training records are maintained according to department policies.
  • Perform laboratory work and documentation in accordance with GLP and company guidelines.
  • Perform tasks under general supervision.

Job Description

Work within a team to provide Analytical Chemistry support to our customers using various analytical instruments and techniques.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Basic understanding in the use of liquid chromatography systems.
  • Basic understanding of chromatography theory and hands-on experience with HPLC Or UPLC.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary together with the ability to interact effectively in team and cross-functional environments.
  • Understanding of GLP laboratory guidelines.
  • Optional experience includes the use of UPLC/MS using Empower software, FTIR and ICP-MS.
  • Experience in method development.
Education And Experience
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or related discipline.
