Worcester, MA

1 year contract

Group: Biologics Developability team

Open to Scientist II or Scientist III level depending on experience

Scientist II: BS with 3-5 years experience

Scientist II: BS with 5+ years, MS with 2+ years or PhD with 0-1 years of experience

MUST HAVE SKILLS: flow cytometry, mass spec (LC-MS or HPLC protein based), data analysis

PREFERRED SKILLS: Protein experience preferred, chromatography, auto liquid handling robots

Background: industry preferred, academia- if in mass spec lab that is acceptable

Summary:

Developmental scientist team

Will be screening discovery stage molecules, typically ranging from 8-10 molecules

All large molecules/biologics

Gene therapy candidates, antibodies of conjugates

Automated work flow, sample prep, mass spec

Biologics Developability Screening and Automation The Biologics CMC Developability team is an integral part of the Biologics CMC Drug Product Development organization. The Biologics CMC Developability team is responsible for-

(1) the identification of biophysical- and chemical liabilities in discovery-stage biologic drug candidates to guide lead selection, and (2) for characterization of the key CMC attributes important for biologic drug development. We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated scientist to join the Biologics CMC Developability team based in Worcester, MA.

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform in-depth LC-MS based characterization of therapeutic biologic molecules and their post-translational modifications.

· Conduct biophysical and biochemical characterization of biologic drug candidates, as needed.

· Execute experimental protocols, collect results, and perform data analysis carefully and independently.

· Maintain excellent documentation of work including electronic lab notebook and protocols.

· Prepare and deliver concise scientific presentations of experimental results. · Oversee maintenance of key laboratory equipment and routine laboratory operations.

· Build strong relationships with other team members and across groups. · Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, and documentation compliance.

Qualifications:

· BS or MS in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry (or equivalent, e.g., Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences) with 5+ (BS) or 2+ years (MS), or Ph.D. with 0+ years of biopharmaceutical industry experience.

· Hands-on experience with protein mass-spectrometry (subunit analysis, peptide mapping, disulfide mapping).

· Experience with biochemical and biophysical characterization of biologic proteins would be preferred.

· Experience with liquid handling robots and their programming would be highly beneficial.

· Demonstrated track record of independent thinking, creativity, and scientific accomplishment.

· Highly responsible and self-motivated. Skills to plan and conduct experiments with high quality and timely deliverables. Able to perform data analysis using MS Excel & GraphPad.

· Team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills.
