Job summary

BEPC Inc. is seeking a motivated Scientist 2 for our client site in South San Francisco, CA. You will support drug discovery by developing and applying in vitro assays to characterize pharmacokinetic properties and support project goals.

You will execute ELISA and cell-based assays, optimize automated workflows, and communicate findings to cross-functional teams in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Biological Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related field.
• Minimum of one year of hands-on assay development in industry.
• Experience with ligand-binding assays (ELISA) and bioanalytical assay development.

Responsibilities

• Execute biochemical and cell-based assays (ELISA, other assays).
• Develop and optimize automated assay workflows for R&D projects.
• Follow assay protocols and document results.
• Author technical reports and present data to cross-functional teams.
• Generate high-quality, reproducible data while managing timelines.

Job description

BEPC is actively looking for Scientist 2 in the South San Francisco, CA area!

W2 Contract – 12 months with possible extensions!

Pay Rate: $44.59 - $47.59 /hour - Determined based on experience (Paid Weekly)

Work Model: Fully Onsite – Monday through Friday, standard 8-hour shift

Note: This is a W2 only role — C2C, C2H will not be considered

Summary of the Role:

BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Scientist 2 to join our client’s site in South San Francisco, California. This role will support innovative drug discovery and development within the Translational Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics (tPKPD) department by developing and applying cutting‑edge in vitro assays that help characterize and optimize the pharmacokinetic properties of therapeutic candidates.

The successful candidate will execute biochemical and cell-based assays and develop and optimize automated assay workflows to support research and development projects. The role also involves interpreting and communicating scientific findings while contributing to a collaborative, high‑performing laboratory environment.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

• Execute biochemical assays, including enzyme‑linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA), and cell‑based assays.
• Develop and optimize automated assay workflows to support research and development projects.
• Develop and follow assay protocols.
• Analyze and document experimental results.
• Author technical reports.
• Present scientific data and insights to cross‑functional teams.
• Generate high‑quality, reproducible data efficiently while managing multiple project timelines.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of cross‑functional teams.
• Contribute to a collaborative, high‑performing laboratory environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Biological Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline or sub‑discipline.
• Minimum of one year of hands‑on assay development experience in an industry setting.
• Proven experience and expertise with ligand‑binding assays, such as ELISA, and bioanalytical assay development.
• Strong dedication to generating high‑quality, reproducible data efficiently.
• Ability to manage multiple project timelines and work effectively both independently and within cross‑functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands‑on experience operating and troubleshooting automated assay platforms is highly desired.
• Previous experience with cell‑culture maintenance and passaging is a major plus.
• Prior experience with mass spectrometry, biomolecular interaction platforms such as Octet or Biacore, and other biochemical assay formats.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and task‑prioritization skills.
