Job summary

L&L Products is seeking a Scientist to drive the creation of new technologies in structural and environmental sealing materials. You will approach problems with a technically fundamental mindset and lead development and testing protocols to explore new products and processes.

Expect to maintain expertise in physical, chemical, analytical, and formulation principles while advancing mechanistic understanding and collaborating globally.

Qualifications

  • BS with 6+ years of product development experience, MS with 3+ years, or PhD in the sciences (chemistry or materials).
  • Safety requirements in the laboratory and workspace must be maintained and improved.
  • Versed in scientific methods, laboratory apparatus, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create new technologies and solve problems in adhesive materials and processes.
  • Plan and lead development and testing protocols for new products or tech creation.
  • Develop mechanistic understanding of current products and processes through experiments.
  • Support patent activities through filing, surveillance, and IP defense.
  • Lead or mentor technicians and maintain laboratory safety practices.
  • Maintain and upgrade laboratory workspace and equipment safety.

What you will do:

As a Scientist, you will create new technologies and problem solve in structural and environmental sealing materials and processes through a technically fundamental approach.


Duties / Responsibilities of this position:


  • Create new technologies and problem solve in adhesive materials and processes through a technically fundamental approach.

  • Independently plan and lead execution of development and testing protocols to explore modes of problem solution or routes of new product or technology creation.

  • Maintain and expand expertise in a set of scientific areas, including physical, chemical, analytical, or formulation principles and methods.

  • Help develop mechanistic understanding of current products and process by determining appropriate experimental and research plans.

  • Cultivate global collaboration in the internal and external scientific community.

  • Develop and protect intellectual property.

  • Support patent activities through filing activities, patent surveillance, and defense of our intellectual property.

  • Serve as a champion of safety practices in the laboratory and office environments.

  • May provide leadership to technicians and specialists. Very competent with self-directed work.

  • Construction, maintenance, and safety responsibilities for laboratory workspace and equipment.


Job Requirements:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:


  • BS with 6+ years of product development experience, MS with 3+ years of product development experience, or PhD in the sciences, typically in chemistry or material science.

  • Select skills in technical/scientific disciplines, as required.

  • Very adept at maintaining and improving safety requirements in the laboratory and work space.

  • Versed in scientific methods and laboratory apparatus.

Physical Demands Analysis:
