Job Description:
We're looking for an experienced Analytical Scientist to lead the development, validation, and optimization of analytical methods that support our nutraceutical and pharmaceutical product testing. You'll work hands-on in a GMP lab, provide technical leadership to internal teams, and help ensure accurate, timely product releases. This is a bench-heavy role for a method development expert ready to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Please note this opening is about 30-45 minutes north of Columbia, in Lancaster, SC.
Key Responsibilities:
Analytical Development & Testing
- Independently develop and validate chromatographic, spectroscopic, titrimetric, and wet chemistry methods
- Perform and review QC testing to support product release and stability studies
- Optimize and troubleshoot instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV/Vis, LC-MS, and ICP-MS
- Analyze data and interpret results with a strong understanding of specification setting, method suitability, and matrix effects
Technical Leadership
- Serve as a resource for QA, QC, and international business teams
- Mentor and train chemists in method development and validation
- Stay up-to-date on industry regulations (FDA, ICH, GLP/GMP), trends, and best practices
- Review contract lab data and ensure test protocols are being properly executed
Lab Operations & Compliance
- Handle hazardous waste in accordance with RCRA and SCDHEC regulations
- Maintain clear, organized records of analytical studies and documentation
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and contribute to continuous improvement
- Regular attendance, cross-department collaboration, and commitment to safety required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience working in an industry laboratory
- Prior experience in nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, or dietary supplements strongly preferred
