Base pay range

$23.00/hr - $27.00/hr

Join Pride Health as a Medical Laboratory Scientist at Charlotte, NC! This is a 3 months contract role offering a great opportunity for experience to excel in a dynamic environment.

Role: Medical Laboratory Scientist

Location: 1918 Randolph Rd, Charlotte, NC 28207

Shift Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Hours per Week: 40 hours

Start Date: ASAP

Pay Highlights: $23-27/hour (Based on years of experience)

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining records.
• Maintain documentation showing proficiency testing samples are handled the same as patient specimens.
• Review and release test results.
• Comply with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
• Adhere to quality control policies; document QC activities, instrument calibrations, and maintenance.
• Follow established procedures when test systems fall outside acceptable performance levels.
• Identify and resolve problems affecting test performance; escalate issues to senior staff when necessary.
• Document all corrective actions taken.
• Report STAT or critical results according to department procedure.
• Respond to inquiries from customers or other lab personnel (if applicable).
• Maintain complete testing records.
• Ensure department cleanliness and organization.
• Track reagent/test kit receipt dates, expiration dates, and opening dates.
• Review and train on new procedures as required.
• Assist during government or regulatory inspections, if needed.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Preferred: BS in Medical Technology.
• Acceptable Alternatives:
• BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology
• Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
• Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433 (March 14, 1990)
• Foreign Graduates: Credential evaluation from the International Education Research Foundation (IERF).
• U.S. Graduates: Original transcript required.

Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience in high complexity testing (for BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology).

Certifications:

• National certification as MT/MLT from ASCP or AMT (or eligible).

Note: Local candidates within 30 miles are eligible

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credit.
