This position supports the management of a complex neuroscience grants portfolio, scientific initiatives, program evaluation activities, stakeholder engagement, and cross-NIH collaborations. This is a full-time position located in Rockville, MD, with teleworking eligibility.* Provide scientific and programmatic support to the NINDS Division of Neuroscience, Movement Disorders and Neurodegeneration (MDN) Cluster, supporting a complex neuroscience grants portfolio and related initiatives in Rockville, MD.* Analyze the scientific landscape and research portfolios to identify funding opportunities, knowledge gaps, emerging trends, and areas for program improvement.* Oversee scientific, administrative, and fiscal aspects of grants and research programs; evaluate awards for scientific progress, programmatic relevance, and mission alignment.* Review grant applications and research proposals for scientific merit, responsiveness to funding priorities, and overall impact.* Develop research plans, protocols, surveys, SOPs, training materials, and data collection systems to support scientific initiatives.* Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of scientific programs, portfolio performance, and program outcomes.* Prepare scientific reports, executive summaries, briefing materials, presentations, and other written communications for leadership and stakeholders.* Manage scientific projects from initiation through completion, including planning, tracking milestones, monitoring progress, and reporting results.* Coordinate and support workshops, conferences, scientific meetings, and cross-NIH activities; prepare meeting summaries and documentation of outcomes.* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, government agencies, scientific leaders, and policy partners.* Advise leadership and program staff on scientific trends, policy considerations, funding priorities, and strategic planning activities.* Develop outreach, communication, and dissemination strategies to promote program goals and scientific initiatives.* Support the development of new funding concepts, research initiatives, and strategic planning efforts aligned with Institute priorities.* Provide scientific and management support for program implementation, portfolio evaluation, and continuous process improvement.**What You Will Need:*** Master’s degree in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Cognitive Science, Biopsychology, or a closely related scientific discipline.* A minimum of FIVE (5) years’ experience of scientific expertise in neuroscience research and program management.* Knowledge of NIH grants, funding mechanisms, and grants administration processes.* Ability to evaluate scientific proposals, grant applications, and research portfolios.* Skilled in conducting qualitative and quantitative program analyses and evaluations.* Proven ability to prepare scientific reports, presentations, executive briefings, and technical documentation.* Background coordinating scientific meetings, workshops, conferences, and stakeholder engagements.* Capability to develop SOPs, research protocols, surveys, questionnaires, and data collection instruments.* Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership, scientific staff, external investigators, and partner organizations.* Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.* Ability to analyze complex scientific data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD “public trust”; candidates must receive approved adjudication prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an active public trust or suitability are preferred.**What Would Be Nice To Have:*** Prior experience supporting NIH Institutes, Centers, or other federal biomedical research organizations.* Familiarity with portfolio analyses involving neuroscience or neurological disease research programs.* Knowledge of Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs/NOFOs) and federal research funding processes.* Background supporting movement disorders, neurodegeneration, or related neuroscience research portfolios.* Ability to develop scientific outreach, training, and communication strategies.* Understanding of policy development, strategic planning, and program evaluation methodologies.* Knowledge of research conduct, compliance requirements, and human subjects research processes.* Capability to advise investigators regarding funding priorities, proposal development, and programmatic requirements.The annual salary range for this position is $75,800.00-$113,600.00.
