Job summary

Milford Public Schools is seeking a STEM teacher for Brookside Elementary School in Milford, MA for the 2026-2027 school year. The role focuses on delivering PLTW curriculum, engaging students with real-world STEM problems, and planning units tied to NGSS standards.

Qualified candidates will hold MA licenses (PreK-2, 1-6, or General Science/Math) with SEI/RETELL certification; ESL license preferred. Bilingual Spanish is a plus, and a Language Ambassador certificate is required after hire.

Qualifications

Expertise connecting content to real-world problems.
Expertise in project-based instruction; PLTW training preferred.
Language Ambassador Training Certificate required after hire.
Bilingual Spanish preferred; if bilingual, provide proof of proficiency within the first year.

Responsibilities

Implement PLTW curriculum units and attend PLTW trainings and events as needed.
Develop rigorous performance tasks aligned to curriculum frameworks.
Plan and implement two to three-week units for all students.
Facilitate student learning by creating lessons that engage students in real-world STEM problems.
Work within every classroom throughout the school year.
Create projects requiring collaboration and critical thinking.
Create innovative lessons using interactive technology.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to analyze student data to ensure priority standards.
Collaborate with other STEM/STEAM teachers district-wide to build a cohesive curriculum.
Collaborate with EL and Special Education teachers to provide accommodations per IEPs.
Perform duties as directed by the building administration.

At least one of the following MA Department of Education Teacher Licenses – Early Childhood (PreK-2), Elementary Education (1-6), General Science (1-6), Mathematics (1-6); dual certification preferred;
SEI/RETELL Certification required, ESL License ((PreK-6) preferred;

Completion of the 2-hour online Language Ambassador Training Course, certificate required upon hire

Collaborate with classroom teachers to analyze student data to ensure priority content standards are addressed in rigorous and relevant lessons, projects, and tasks
Work collaboratively with other STEM/STEAM teachers across the district to build a cohesive STEM curriculum for the district;
Collaborate with EL teachers to support EL students and Special Education teachers to provide accommodations and modifications according to student IEPs.
Perform duties and other responsibilities as directed by the building administration.
