Job summary

Grand Blanc Community Schools in Michigan seeks a talented educator to join our elementary/secondary staff. The selected candidate will design lesson plans, implement diverse instructional strategies, and monitor student progress with timely reports.

  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior for a functional learning atmosphere.
  • Evaluate students' academic and social growth and prepare progress reports.
  • Communicate with parents about student progress through conferences and other channels.
  • Maintain current student data including measures of academic progress.

Job description

Minimum Qualifications
  • A valid Michigan Teacher's Certificate.
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • A valid State of Michigan (DI, or DX) endorsement.
SUMMARY OF PERFORMANCE DUTIES AND RESPONSIILITIES (but not limited to..):
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
  • Uses a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, discovery, etc.
  • Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
  • Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.
  • Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students' progress.
  • Maintains current student data including all relevant measures of academic progress.
Requirements

Newly hired employees must satisfactorily pass:

  • Reference checks
  • Police clearance including digital fingerprinting.
Annual Salary

Salary and exceptional fringe benefits based upon BEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
