You will write and edit a variety of materials, explore non-traditional formats like video or podcasts, and help scientists communicate effectively. Requires a Bachelor's in journalism or related field and 6 years of writing/editing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field.
• Six years of writing and/or editing experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Story Development: Build relationships with scientists and staff to identify story opportunities and translate research for diverse audiences.
• Writing and Editing: Produce a wide variety of communications products and edit materials from the Communications Office and others.
• Communications Training and Consulting: Help tailor messages for specific audiences and assist with trainings for scientists.
• Other Duties As Assigned: Back up other roles in the Communications Office as needed.
