Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Four to six years of professional writing, journalism, communications, or public relations experience.
• Demonstrated ability translating complex research for broad audiences.
• Strong understanding of current developments in sciences and news events.
• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and interviewing skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Drupal as a CMS.
• Experience collaborating on multimedia projects and digital storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Develop news and feature stories for Princeton University's homepage and external audiences.
• Collaborate with multimedia staff to create content across formats (articles, videos, infographics).
• Build relationships with faculty, researchers, administrators, and campus partners to identify story opportunities.
• Support editorial standards and University style guidelines across projects.
• Coordinate dissemination of news across communications channels.
• Assist with peak-period coverage of other beats when needed.
• Contribute to major print, digital, and multimedia projects produced by the Office of Communications.
