Job summary

Williams College Libraries invites applications for a Research and Instruction Librarian liaison for the natural sciences. The role provides research support, information literacy instruction, and collaboration with faculty and students within a small, relationship-driven academic environment.

The successful candidate will teach course-related sessions, develop science collections, engage in professional service, and contribute to innovative information access for the Williams community.

Qualifications

• Masters in Library Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
• Candidates with the ability to obtain this degree within 6 months from the date of hire will be considered.
• One year of relevant experience is required.
• Experience teaching research tools and information literacy.
• Understanding of information literacy in the sciences.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build collaborations.

Responsibilities

• Teach information literacy and research methods to students in the natural sciences.
• Provide guidance on research resources and methods.
• Support faculty research and publishing activities.
• Develop discipline-specific library resources and collections.
• Participate in the college's science community.
• Provide reference services and co-curricular workshops.
• Engage in departmental outreach and service on college teams.
