Job summary

The American Heart Association is seeking a science communications professional to guide and partner with volunteer clinicians and researchers in developing scientific statements, advisories, guidelines, and conference programming.

The role provides consultation and approval on science aspects for staff-created programs, publications, websites, press releases, and marketing materials, and it requires synthesizing and communicating the current state of science to lay and professional audiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical or health-related field with cardiovascular foundation and at least three years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in molecular biology, genetics, pharmacology, physiology, or related areas, plus strong scientific writing and publication history.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to manage multiple projects, and willingness to travel approximately 25%.
  • Competitive salary with expected pay range of $110,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience and geographic differentials.
