Job summary

Valencia College's West Campus is hiring Learning Assistant II (Tutors) to join the Learning Support Center tutoring team. The role supports students in Science and/or Math through one-on-one or small group sessions.

Ideal candidates will have tutoring experience and have completed college-level coursework in Biology, Physics and Math as listed in the posting. The position is primarily on-site with occasional remote components; open until filled.

Qualifications

• Previous tutoring experience.
• Must have evidence of successful completion of college-level academic work.
• Flexibility to work various hours including nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to current students in designated disciplines.
• Assess academic ability using provided instruments.
• Meet with supervisor to discuss progress and needs.
• Document student progress for each session.
• Implement an academic action plan for each session.
• Participate in staff development training.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
