Job summary

Valencia College is seeking a part-time Learning Assistant II (Tutor) at the Lake Nona Campus to support science students. The role focuses on delivering academic assistance, mentoring, and small-group tutoring within the Learning Support Center.

The ideal candidate has tutoring experience and has completed college-level coursework in relevant science subjects. Expect primarily on-site work with some remote components and regular on-site hours during the workweek.

Qualifications

• Must have evidence of successful completion of college level academic work.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides one-on-one or small group tutoring to currently enrolled students in a discipline.
• Assesses academic ability of students using provided instruments.
• Meets with supervisory staff to discuss academic progress.
• Assists supervisor with academic needs assessment.
• Documents student progress for each session using provided instruments.
• Implements an academic action plan for each session using provided instruments.
• Participates in staff development training.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
