Job summary

Uber Technologies Inc. is seeking a Science Manager to lead a data science team focused on improving the delivery logistics marketplace. You will drive research on real-time matching, analytics, and experimentation to influence product and business decisions.

Qualifications

Ph.D., MS, or Bachelor's in Economics, Statistics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields.
7+ years of industry experience as an Applied or Data Scientist (or 4+ with PhD).
Minimum 2 years of experience directly managing a team of scientists.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across product areas and leadership.
Ability to use Python or similar technologies to work with large datasets and prototype models.
Experience designing experiments and interpreting results across key performance indicators.

Responsibilities

Solve ambiguous, data-driven business problems.
Collaborate with cross-functional leads to define technical vision and team direction.
Develop new data science methodologies including modeling, analytics, optimization, and experimentation.
