Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking a part-time or staff-level Science Lab Technician to support science faculty in setting up and taking down labs, maintain laboratory facilities, and assist with risk assessments and safety compliance. The role involves ensuring smooth delivery of science education experiences across teaching labs.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Associate degree or equivalent.
• Experience in a science lab setting is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide general technical support for science teaching faculty.
• Prepare apparatus, materials and solutions as directed by faculty and/or Department Chair.
• Execute trial runs of teaching laboratories to ensure performance.
• Set up, check and issue equipment for use in lessons.
• Maintain clean lab, prep room and stock room spaces.
• Dispose of waste and sanitize surfaces per safety regulations.
• Maintain lab inventory and manage deliveries and supplies.
