Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana is seeking a science lab technician to support faculty and maintain laboratory facilities across biology and related sciences. The role includes setting up and taking down labs, preparing materials, and ensuring safety and cleanliness in teaching laboratories.

Under supervision of the Program Chair or designee, you will perform equipment maintenance, manage supplies, and contribute to lab safety and compliance with FERPA/Title IX.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree or equivalent.
• Preferred Experience: working in a science lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide general technical support for science teaching faculty.
• Prepare apparatus, materials and solutions as directed by science faculty.
• Execute trial runs of teaching laboratories when requested.
• Set up, check and issue equipment and apparatus for use in practical lessons.
• Construct and modify apparatus as required by the faculty.
• Retrieve, clean, and sanitize apparatus and equipment; maintain lab surfaces.
