Job summary

GWLAI seeks a collaborative and service-oriented Research Services Librarian for Science and Engineering to join the Research and User Services (RUS) department. The role emphasizes supporting interdisciplinary teaching, research, and publishing, with focus on natural sciences, engineering, and data-intensive research.

As a member of the RUS team, the incumbent provides research support, instruction, and collection development for all university areas, including the First Year Writing program,

Qualifications

• ALA-accredited Master’s degree in library or information science OR other advanced degree with relevant experience by date of appointment.
• Demonstrated collaboration skills and a commitment to supporting an inclusive and equitable research community.
• Strong initiative and a results-driven approach in previous roles.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Awareness of current scholarly communication and research trends, issues, and challenges facing researchers in an academic environment.
• Experience or demonstrated potential to support scientific research, instruction, and publishing practices within science and engineering fields.

Responsibilities

• Provide research services, instruction, and collection development across disciplines.
• Support interdisciplinary teaching, research, and publishing in science and engineering.
• Promote open access and open educational resources within scholarly communication practices.
• Collaborate with faculty, students, and researchers as part of the RUS team.
• Support the First Year Writing program and broader university initiatives.
