Winston Preparatory School in Whippany, NJ is seeking a full-time Content Teacher (Science) for the 2026-2027 school year, starting August 2026. The role focuses on accessible science instruction, small class settings, and multisensory strategies to support diverse learners with dyslexia, NVLD, and executive functioning difficulties.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Science or Special Education (Master’s preferred), with at least 2 years lead teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Special Education required; Master’s in related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years lead teaching experience required.
• Experience with multisensory, evidence-based instructional approaches.
• Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect instructional support in a small class setting.
• Employ special educational strategies and techniques during class instruction to improve skills.
• Instruct students using multisensory strategies to generalize skills for diverse needs.
• Teach students in the classroom.
• Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction and practice.
• Establish and enforce rules for behavior to maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Communicate with parents to discuss progress and priorities for students.
• Collaborate with parents, administrators, and outside professionals to develop IEPs.
• Establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Collaborate with teams and document weekly updates to families and teaching team.
• Maintain professional competence through staff development and curriculum meetings.
