Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers seeks an Assistant Director of Science Academic Support Services to lead the College of Sciences' academic support programs, coordinate tutoring centers, and oversee testing services.

You will design innovative support initiatives, work with faculty and staff, and assess impact on student success through data analysis and effective mentoring. This role is based in Norfolk, VA and requires exempt, full-time tenure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sciences or education, or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
• Strong data analysis skills.
• Strong communication skills both written and oral.
• Strong organization skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, and assess programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, coordinate, and assess the academic support services offered by the College of Sciences.
• Direct the activities of the Science Tutoring Centers and University Testing Center.
• Design and implement innovative support programs in coordination with faculty and staff.
• Evaluate the impact of these initiatives on student success.
