Job summary

Fuse Engineering LLC in Linthicum, MD, seeks a seasoned SWE to drive automation of the security evaluation process within the Secure the Enterprise program. You will work with a SCRUM team to develop analytics using Pig and PySpark, delivering reliable data to end users.

The role requires TS/SCI with Maryland Polygraph, a BS in CS or related field, and several years of SWE experience; familiarity with data workflows, agile practices, and data querying is valued.

Qualifications

• Strong background in analytics development.
• Desire to learn Pig / PySpark.
• 7 years’ experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of a similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• 4 years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Develop and run Pig and/or PySpark analytics; review data ingest tickets and merge requests with teammates.
• Deliver reliable, accurate data to end users and ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly.
• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Debug existing software and correct defects.
• Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development standards.
• Design, code, modify software to add features and integrate with new systems.
• Develop data queries for databases and data repositories.
• Write or review software and system documentation.
• Design or implement complex database interfaces/queries.
• Develop algorithms to meet performance standards.
• Assist with testing procedures for software components.
• Analyze systems flow and data usage to improve performance.
• Modify software to adapt to new hardware or improve efficiency.
• Design and modify software using mathematical models to predict outcomes.
