Job Description

JOB CLASS: School Van Driver (no CDL required)

REPORTS TO: Transportation Services Manager

School van drivers transport students to and from school, as well as to and from special events such as field trips. They must keep to a specific route schedule while ensuring passenger safety at all times.

Responsibilities

• Follow the planned route and schedule for departure times and stops
• Be alert to traffic and weather conditions to ensure passenger safety
• Regularly check vehicle safety through pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and consistently monitor vehicle condition while driving
• Report monthly fuel consumption and mileage
• Respond to emergency and non‑emergency situations
• Report delays, accidents, and emergencies
• Enforce conduct and safety rules on the van
• Maintain a clean vehicle, including weekly washing, sweeping, and dusting

Requirements
