Job summary

First Student is seeking a School Bus Driver in Austin, TX to transport students safely to and from school. You will drive routes with support from industry-leading technology and perform pre- and post-trip inspections.

No prior experience is required as we provide training, and there are opportunities for additional hours on charter routes. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and helping students ride confidently each day.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass a drug screen and physical.
• Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years required.
• English proficiency as the role requires DOT-compliant communications.

Responsibilities

• Drive school routes safely and on schedule.
• Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety.
• Operate with the support of company technology to guide daily routes.
