Job summary

TL Worldwide Transportation, a trusted provider with over 50 years of service in Northeast Ohio, is seeking caring and safety-focused School Van Drivers in Akron, Ohio. This part-time, permanent position offers a consistent weekday schedule, transporting special education and day-treatment students to and from schools and agency locations.

Drivers enjoy a split-shift schedule with mornings and afternoons free from weekend or school-holiday work.

Qualifications

  • Valid Ohio driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • At least 21 years of age (some routes may require 25+).
  • Ability to pass pre-service physical and required drug screening.
  • Ability to complete a background check for work with children and vulnerable passengers.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport special education and day-treatment passengers to and from assigned schools and agency locations.
  • Operate a company-owned, well-maintained vehicle.
  • Provide patient, courteous, and professional service to all passengers.
  • Follow assigned routes, schedules, and transportation instructions.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations staff.
  • Complete required vehicle safety inspections before each shift.
  • Adhere to company policies and all applicable transportation and safety requirements.
  • Ensure a safe, comfortable, and respectful transportation experience for all passengers.

Qualifications

  • Ability to complete background screening appropriate for working with children and vulnerable passengers
  • Dependable and punctual for both morning and afternoon split shifts
  • Demonstrates patience, professionalism, and good judgment
  • Ability to follow GPS directions, assigned routes, and transportation procedures
Compensation

$17.00–$30.00 per hour, based on qualifications, credentials, assigned route, availability, and experience. Drivers are paid weekly and typically work approximately 20 hours per week.
