Job summary

Young World Physical Education is seeking a Transportation Mechanic to operate, repair, and maintain vehicles within the Pamlico County Schools Transportation Department in Bayboro, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, experience in mechanics, and a willingness to obtain a CDL license. Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical issues, performing vehicle maintenance, and ensuring safety regulations are followed. The position is open until filled, and the start date is immediate.

Qualifications

• Must have or be eligible to obtain a CDL license.
• Mechanic experience is preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Class A CDL, tanker, & school bus endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses minor and frequently occurring mechanical problems.
• Rotates, aligns, and balances tires.
• Repairs and replaces damaged vehicle body parts.
• Removes, replaces and reassembles engines and other parts.
