IDEA Public Schools in Houston seeks a Transportation Manager to oversee safe daily transport for up to 1,000 students and lead a team of up to 20. You will partner with campus leaders to drive success and ensure compliance with safety standards.

The role requires CDL with P/S endorsements, 21+ years old, and strong leadership, communication, and time-management skills. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Education: GED or High School Diploma.
• Experience: Operation of large passenger vehicles; ability to manage student behavior.
• License: Valid CDL with class P (passenger) and S (school bus) endorsements.
• Completed bus driver safety training.
• Must be over 21 years old.
• Pass alcohol and drug tests.
• DOT Physical Examination.
• Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

• The safe transportation of all students is the #1 priority with 0 preventable incidents.
• Oversee daily dispatch operations and monitor two-way radios to address bus issues.
• Ensure drivers maintain credentials and complete trainings on time.
• Develop schedules ensuring drivers drive while on clock.
• Monitor maintenance and manage route efficiency to save costs.
• Provide excellent customer service to school staff, families, and agencies.
